Friends - Volunteer

In the spirit of representing the multicultural community we serve, we are seeking board members with experience working in diverse communities of underserved populations. We are currently accepting applications to join the board of The Friends. Contact us at friends@friendsofglbtyouth.org.

Intern may make a flexible work schedule, dedicating between 15-20 hours per week on average, depending on the needs of any specific week. Among the responsibilities of the Intern will be:

--recruiting and communicating with universities and colleges

--marketing the Fair to area youth
--managing any necessary arrangements for the Fair
--proposing and executing a budget for the Fair, and
--making regular progress reports to the Board.

This would be an ideal opportunity for candidates interested in careers in higher education, youth services, community activism, or other non-profit management. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are self-motivated and will take personal responsibility for the success of the event. The Internship is unpaid, but approved costs will be reimbursed and the Board will do whatever paperwork is required to facilitate class credit. We are always looking for dependable people to assist us in our goal of delivering an uplifting and educational experience for the youth attendees of Youth Pride, and we are in constant need of volunteer assistance at our fundraisers.
